Introduction: 4.30 – 6pm: Welcome Tea on Diggi Palace Lawn
Day 1, 10 – 1pm: Heritage City Walks around the Old City to gather inspiration and visit some of Jaipur’s extraordinary variety of markets, including the wholesale vegetable and spice markets, working craftsmen and textile and jewellery bazaars.
Day 2, 10 – 4pm: Visit Amber on the outskirts of Jaipur, with its spectacular fort, accessed on an elephant, and a rare chance to see them in their stables! You will have a delicious lunch at Anokhi Museum of Block Printing in Amber Village, followed by an extensive guided walk around the exceptional ruins of this old capital, visiting the step-well and temples.
Day 3, 10 – 4pm: You will gain an exclusive insight into the craft heritage of Jaipur with a visit to Sanganer, where you will observe traditional paper making, block printing, vegetable dying, wood block cutting and the famous Jaipur blue pottery making.
Day 4: Kite Festival Holiday
Day 5: 10 – 4pm: You will go on a visit to the Diggi Farm and village, with its famed temple, ruined city and the chance for a camel caravan trip through farming landscape and colourful village life. You will have a delicious lunch at the Diggi Farm house with the participants of the cooking workshop.
Day 6, 10 – 1pm: You will be taken on an early morning boat trip out to the Jal Mahal island garden, newly renovated with stunning water and marble features in typical Rajput-Mughal style. You will also be able to visit the Royal Cenotaphs before returning to Diggi to finish processing your photographs and print some favourite images for the afternoon exhibition for all workshop participants at Diggi Palace.
You will need to bring your own camera and laptop. A private room will be set aside for you to spend additional time processing your images as you wish, and even making a short video film.
Please note that any additional shopping in the bazaar is not included in your workshop fee. Whilst everything will be done to ensure your safety during the course of these workshops, you undertake to participate at your own risk.
